About
A bit about me.
I'm Pawan Saini, a full stack developer from New Delhi, India. I build websites, mobile apps and desktop tools, and I turn coffee and vague requirements into working software. Mostly the second part is hard.
So far: fintech and payment platforms, HR tools and healthcare systems. Mostly React, React Native, Node.js and MongoDB. Every industry says its problem is unique. The bugs usually disagree.
How I work
- I build the whole feature, from database to screen. It turns out that talking to fewer people about one bug is a feature too.
- I write simple code. Clever code is fun for a day, and then someone has to read it. Usually me, usually at midnight.
- I treat security and speed as part of the job, not a bonus round. Shocking, I know.
- I say "it depends" only when it really does. And then I explain what it depends on, which is rarer than you'd think.
Red flags
- Last-minute scope changes. I love surprises, just not the ones that arrive the night before launch with the words "small tweak".
- Experts who have never opened the code. Strong opinions are welcome. Reading the docs first would be a lovely bonus.
- "Can you just..." followed by something that touches the whole database. Of course I can. Let me clear my week.
Beyond client work
On the rare days when the plan stays put, I build developer tools in the Lab and write down what I learn in the blog.
